Hi everyone, here are the top issues we're currently seeing. If you're experiencing one of these, please read these articles in order to save yourself the need to send an email to our support team:

1. Recording is still processing - Sometimes, depending on our system load, it may take over 12 hours to process your recording. If you're still having this problem after 24 hours, please email us.

2. Screen Sharing - I see a black screen (for Presenter) - If you started screen sharing, and the screen displays "Screen Sharing has started", then that means you ARE screen sharing, and everyone can see your screen. It is normal to see a black screen on your AnyMeeting brwoser as it is now broadcasting your screen.

3. Screen Sharing - Mac Java problem - Make sure that you have the latest version of Java installed, and that you're using Firefox or Safari web browser. You may also have to re-enable Java on your Mac.

4. Screen Sharing Download - Virus Warning - This is a very recent development where Norton Antivirus identifies our Windows Screen Sharing plugin as a virus. This is a false positive. We have communicated and resolved this with Symantec, and future updates of their virus definitions will not report any virus in our plugin.

5. Screen Sharing stops frequently - This recent issue is related to a user's internet connection. Try closing all other programs that you're not using in order to free up your internet connection. We're also working on a fix to improve this performance.

If you have other questions, please feel free to search our knoweldge base, or contact Customer Service. Thanks!

Due to future improvements in AnyMeeting, the screen sharing widget (The small pop out window that appeared after you begin screen sharing) is being phased out of our software. All new accounts created as of 12pm PST today will not have the widget functionality. Current users will retain it for a short period before it is phased out on these accounts as well. Our support materials will change to address this at that time.

Though the removal of this functionality paves the way for exciting new improvements, we do regret any inconvenience the loss of this feature may cause. We assure you that we are looking into other implementations of similar features in the future.

Due to recent security flaws with Java, Apple has just released an update that blocks the use of every version of Java up to and including Java 7 Update 11. Unfortunately, this affects every Mac user out there who wants to screen share using the AnyMeeting software. However, there is an easy fix. All you need to do is go to Java’s website and download the latest version of Java 7 Update 13.

Hello Mac Users,

Our screen sharing application currently requires the use of Java, a common software that allows for a wide variety of online and offline applications to function. However, on OSX, Java requires a 64 bit browser to function for web applications. But since Chrome for Apple's OSX operating system is not 64 bit, screen sharing will not function on this browser.

We recommend using Mozilla's Firefox browser: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new

UPDATE: 05/21/12: We have done further testing into how Apple is handling Java in OSX 10.5 and have altered these instructions. Hopefully, this revised guide may resolve the issue on your system.

Some of AnyMeeting's Mac OSX users have unfortunately been experiencing some issues when attempting to Screen Share. Our Screen Sharing feature requires the rather common Java software to function properly, a software that the majority of internet users will already have installed on their system as it is used by a very wide variety of internet applications. However, Mac OSX has recently changed how it handles Java due to a security compromise. For more information please check out the news article HERE.

For clarification, this effects only the person attempting to screen share and not anyone who is just viewing it.

If you find yourself having difficulty in getting the screen sharing to run on your Mac OSX system, please check out the links below for possible fixes.

Can't Start Screen Sharing (Mac OS X 10.7 Users)
Can't Start Screen Sharing (Mac OS X 10.5 & 10.6 Users)

Our Screen Sharing feature has just received a large update which should improve all viewers’ experiences in low bandwidth situations. Previously, when either the presenter's or an attendee's internet connection was suffering, this created an increasing "latency" in the screen sharing feed. Basically, the screen sharing would take longer to actually get to the viewer, lagging behind the audio/webcam.

Now, while we can't solve a poor internet connection, we have changed the screen sharing feature’s behavior so that when an internet connection is suffering, the quality of the screen sharing feed decreases instead of the screen sharing beginning to lag behind. Now your viewers will be able to keep up, even if their internet connection isn't!
